The institution requires students to maintain current financial obligations in order to remain enrolled and eligible for institutional services. The following policy applies to Tuition and Educational Resource Fee payments submitted to the institution.
Returned Payments / Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF)
Payments submitted to the Institution by personal check, electronic check (ACH), or other bank-drafted methods that are returned unpaid by a financial institution due to non-sufficient funds, closed accounts, stop payments, or invalid banking information will be considered NSF payments.
NSF Fee Assessment
In the event a payment is returned, the institution will:
- Reinstate the original balance to the student’s account immediately.
- Assess a returned payment fee of $15 per occurrence.
The NSF fee becomes part of the student’s financial obligation and must be paid in full. The institution will collect payment toward the NSF Charge first before applying any payment toward Tuition & Educational Resource Fees or other charges assessed.
Student Account Holds and Restrictions
A returned payment may result in the placement of a financial hold on the student’s account. This hold may prevent the student from:
- Registering for future terms or modules
- Participating in graduation activities
- Accessing certain student services
The Institution reserves the right to suspend enrollment or access to coursework until the balance is resolved.
Repayment Requirements
Following an NSF occurrence, the Institution may require that all subsequent payments be made using certified funds, such as:
- Cashier’s check
- Money order
- Debit or credit card
- Other approved guaranteed payment methods
Personal checks or ACH payments may no longer be accepted after one or more returned payments.
Repeated Returned Payments
Students or payers with multiple NSF occurrences may lose eligibility for installment payment arrangements and may be required to pay all future tuition and fees in full prior to the start of each academic term.
Failure to Resolve Outstanding Balances
Unresolved balances resulting from returned payments may be subject to:
- Late fees
- Administrative withdrawal
- Referral to a collection agency, where permitted by law
Students remain responsible for all charges incurred, regardless of financial aid status.
Questions regarding returned payments or student account balances should be directed to the Financial Aid Office.
